Addition to the series of Crown shyness is an interesting phenomenon that happens when neighbouring trees avoid touching each other, it is believed they naturally do this to cooperate with each other to ensure there is enough light to hit the floor of the forest. The series of Crown Shyness, plays with colour and light, as the trees look flat and morphed as they communicate with each other to co exist.
Using watercolour and gouache with shimmers of gold leaf on canvas to build the ‘decor’ of each tree. I used expressive colours to represent this phenomenon in the other worldly landscape.
